decided to go down to the nearest coffee shop to watch the liverpool-everton match with my dad at 9pm. i've been wanting to release all my tension that have been bothering me the whole day by witnessing my beloved team in action....
liverpool had a shaky start, with many occasions the evertonian threatened to score. cahill was superb as ever, and can be only stopped by a solid liverpool defence. as usual, in any merseyside showdown, rough tackles and very aggresively play is expected. However, the turning point of the match is when gerrard was sent out with his second caution only after the 20th min into the game. This is really a blow if ever liverpool were to emerge victorious. i mean, that was such a clumsy lunge even though he is well aware that he was cautioned. Seriously, me and my dad wanted to leave at half time, knowing that there is no fight anymore as liverpool will have to hold on with 10 men for the remaining 70 mins. Nevertheless, liverpool were not a team to give up easily and instead, they stick together as a team and put up a brave front. We change our mind when liverpool went ahead with phillip neville's own goal just b4 half time. YES!!
second half begins and alonso, together with sissoko, played grit and teeth for the liverpool midfield. we were very delighted when garcia extended liverpool's lead with an exquisite chip over the keeper. However, our delight turned into misery when everton pull one back through tim cahill. ARGH!!!
this is getting thrilling, yet we were definitely disturbed by their goal. Liverpool managed to score through a resulting free kick, but unfortunately it was ruled off-side. the match turned into liverpool's favour again when one evertonian was sent off for elbowing alsonso in the face.HAHAHA YEEAH!!!
HAHAHA.... finally, kewell ease our nerves when he scored a splendid, splendid long range effort that will surely seal liverpool's victory.
ALRIGHT MAN... all my tension will be washed down the drain with this good news. for me, the liverpool midfield duo, alonso and sissoko won my heart as men-of-the-match.
liverpool had won 3-1.
YAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!
